The V-20 has been discontinued and replaced by the BBCCX20. We have kept the following review on-line for those who have a V-20 or can buy a used one. The Zojirushi V-20 is one of the most advanced machines on the market. The V20 has a nice small compact shape. It has an easy to use and well-placed control panel. It is also one of the few 2-pound bread machines on the market with dual kneading paddles.
The dual paddles can be a great advantage in that they seem to do a better job of mixing the dough than a single paddle does (even though single paddle machines do a fair job of this). The V-20 has lots of cycles including: basic, quick basic, basic wheat, quick wheat, dough, quick dough, jam, cake, sandwich, and homemade. The crust color can also be set for most of the cycles. The choices are light, medium, and dark. With programmable functions, you can even enter your own times and cycles. This is a big plus for anyone who has specialized recipes. It also has a quick dough cycle that will give you your dough in 45 minutes as opposed to the 1 hour and 20 minutes that it takes on some machines. The Zojirushi also has jam and cake cycles which can be both fun and useful. The horizontal, traditional style loaf is also nice to have and makes better presentation at mealtime than the square or very-tall loaves produced by the vertical pans. All in all, the Zojirushi is highly recommended by BreadInfo.com. It can be purchased through Amazon for under $150.00. Quite a bargain really.
