Old Fashioned White Bread
Ingredients:
3/4 cup milk
2 cups bread flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon butter or margarine
1 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast
Directions:
First add the liquid ingredients to the pan. Then add in the dry ingredients, except the yeast. Level the ingredients and put butter into corners of pan. Make a dry well in the center and add the yeast to the well. (This keeps the yeast dry if you decide to start the bread later rather than sooner.)
This, as most of the recipes at this site, is a one pound loaf recipe. One pound loaves will work in most models of bread-machines.
